W. Anthony Andrews is an experienced litigator who has spent his entire career defending governmental and private entities in state or federal court. His practice includes litigating matters brought under premises liability, automobile liability, construction negligence, and civil rights violations. Mr. Andrews has successfully tried cases in several counties, many to a defense verdict. He has prevailed in numerous summary judgment motions, and successfully defended them on appeal in published opinions in state and federal court.
Representative Matters
Mr. Andrews has defended one of the largest school districts in Illinois at trial in a construction liability case, as well as a large local school district at mediation in a bus v. pedestrian accident. He has also defended multiple municipalities in premises liability cases arising from accidents on sidewalks or bike paths; a sheriff in federal court by obtaining summary judgment in a racial and gender discrimination case; and police officers in a federal civil rights case arising out of an alleged false arrest. His defense experience also extends to commercial developers in construction liability actions; commercial carriers, bus companies and firefighters in catastrophic automobile accidents; and large retailers in numerous premises liability actions.
Professional Background
Before joining OBKC&G, Ltd., Mr. Andrews practiced tort defense litigation for 13 years at the DuPage law firm of Norton, Mancini & Weiler. During this time he represented police officers, firefighters, municipalities, business owners, hospitals, motorists, and school districts in litigation matters in state and federal court. Mr. Andrews has also served as a trial judge for mock trial teams in DuPage County.
