Professional Background
Mr. Thomas was an Assistant State’s Attorney and Public Defender for Shelby County, Illinois. He has submitted briefs to the First, Second and Fourth Appellate Courts in the State of Illinois arguing before the Fourth Appellate District, Mount Vernon, Illinois. In 2000, Mr. Thomas became associated with the law office of Robert J. Schillerstrom, Ltd. in Naperville. In 2005, after Mr. Schillerstrom’s office closed, Mr. Thomas opened his own firm retaining nearly all of Mr. Schillerstrom’s clients. Since 2000, Mr. Thomas has represented the Illinois Department of Transportation as a Special Assistant Attorney General in condemnation matters. Since 2005, he has served the City of Chicago as a Special Assistant Corporation Counsel in the condemnation and acquisition of property associated with the O’Hare Modernization Program.
