Several OBKC&G, Ltd. attorneys will participate in the Illinois Association of Fire Protection Districts Annual Conference to be held June 10-13, 2010, at the Peoria Civic Center in Peoria, Illinois. Karl R. Ottosen and Thomas J. Gilbert will participate in a “Legal Open Forum – Panel of Attorneys.” Also, Karl will speak on “Have We Broken the Law with our Medical Billing?”, “People Problems? Labor / Management Issues in the Fire Service,” and “Do You Know How They Make Sausage? Understanding the Legislative Process.” Stephen H. DiNolfo will speak on “Are You Liable? Current Liability Issues in the Fire Service.” Carolyn Welch Clifford will moderate “The DOI’s Role in the Life of Your Pension Fund” panel and speak on “Illinois Pension Reform: Where We Are At and Where It is Going.” Shawn P. Flaherty will moderate a panel discussion on “The Prudent Public Pension Investor.” Also, Shawn will speak on “Fiduciary Responsibility of Pension Fund Trustees” and teach “Advanced Trustee Training Part 3 Personnel and Human Resources for Career Trustees.” Joseph Miller III will present “The Judge Said What?! Annual Legal Update.” Ericka J. Thomas will discuss “The Evolving Legal Dynamics of Correcting Mistakes in Pension Benefits.”
